Eccentric pressing

Eccentric pressing is a versatile and efficient technique for forming sheet metal by bending, punching and pressing. At Stans & Press, we perform eccentric pressing with complex geometries for all possible industries and in both small and large formats.

Eccentric pressing in our machinery

At Stans & Press, we have eccentric presses in various designs with an effective pressing force of 65-125 tonnes. Our professional machine park offers the possibility of using multi-station tools, standardised tools and specially manufactured tools. Please contact us to discuss your needs, and we will develop a customised solution together.

How is eccentric pressing done?

Eccentric pressing is a method of sheet metal pressing which uses an eccentric mechanism to convert circular motion into linear motion. This linear motion is used to press metal workpieces against tools that shape the sheet metal to the desired form. Eccentric presses can perform both single and multiple strokes, making them suitable for a variety of machining processes.

After the workpiece has been processed in the eccentric press, the sheet metal can press brake to create the specific angles and bends required for the final product, which we also offer in our machinery.

A versatile processing method

One of the great advantages of eccentric pressing is its wide range of applications. Using a wide range of tools, both standardised and customised, this method can perform a range of operations on sheet metal of varying shapes and sizes. Whether forming, bending or punching, the eccentric press performs the entire process with high precision and efficiency.

For large volumes where different pressing operations are required, eccentric pressing is an optimal solution. By using multi-stage tools, all operations can be performed in the same machine during a single work cycle. This results in a significant cost efficiency and a faster production time.

Advantages of eccentric pressing

Some of the main advantages of eccentric pressing are:

  • wide range of applications
  • short cycle times
  • cost-effective in batch production
  • the possibility to perform several operations in the same tool
  • tight tolerances and complex geometries
  • repetition accuracy
